Christmas Events in "Diamond"

Main events in December were connected with Christmas Season. In our Clubs, that is in: Children's Club of Friends in Warsaw and "Diamond" Children's Club in Białystok as well as in "Shelter" Youth Club in Białystok we organized Christmas Eve's Meetings (which we call "Small Christmas Eves"). Before those meetings children were much engaged in preparing Christmas programs. Apart from children and teachers we had some guests participating in our meetings. In "Diamond" Children's Club children, parents and grandparents sat together at Christmas table. Our invitation to the "Shelter" Youth Club was accepted by Mrs. Barbara Wacław - Chief of Dziesięciny I Region Administration.
All Christmas Meetings were held in joyous atmosphere. After the presentation of art programs we had special dinner, prepared together by children and teachers.
The last, but most liked by children part of the program was of course giving presents.

"Diamond" Center and MOPR (Social Care City Department) organize Christmas parties for children together

In the framework of cooperation between Christian Education Center "Diamond" and Social Care City Department in Białystok two Christmas parties for children took place. It was already third time that we organized such event with the Team of Social Workers nr 5. This time 140 children took part in it. The event was held on 17th of January 2009 in the Primary School nr 47 in Białystok. One week later, on 25th of January 2009 there was Christmas meeting organized with the Team of Social Workers nr 1. This party was held in Primary School nr 28 in Białystok and 110 children took part in it. Program of each event contented of short puppet educational show, presentation of folk dances made by the group of children from Czeczenia, various contests with prices and having fun with the music. The main point of the party was the visit of Santa Claus. All the children waited this moment the most, because every one of them wanted to get a gift. Santa had a lot of presents and gave each one personally to every child.

Christmas Eve in "Diamond"

Before Christmas three special Christmas Eve Meetings took place. These are unusual events in "Diamond" Center and we all work a lot to prepare them.
In our Clubs in Warsaw and Białystok children presented special programs and Christmas shows. In Białystok we held multimedia show entitled "Memories from the camp". In both Clubs we had special dinners. As the ending of the evenings children received presents. Children and their parents did not want to leave our meetings and the evenings were prolonged in a very nice atmosphere.
In the framework of our weekend meetings with children from orphanages, we had Christmas weekend. On Saturday, children together with their friendly families met all together for dinner. Everyone wanted to have their share in preparing this evening and everyone could experience its special atmosphere. After dinner children also received presents.

What is Christmas for us?

In many houses Christmas is time of colorful Christmas tree, carp fish, red beet soup and... that's all. In today's modern world even the habit of so called "family holiday" is no longer cultivated. For us, the time of preparation to Christmas is still special, because then we can explain to our pupils its real meaning and massage.

Events for Children's Day

Children's Day was very exciting this year in both of our Clubs. Children from Children's Club of Friends in Warsaw have been invited to visit a unit of Polish Army at 13 Zwirki i Wigury Street. This visit was full of attractions and was held on 29th of May 2008. Children could see the show of soldier's fitness. Later they visited the unit and its equipment, they also saw the soldier's armament. Children were invited to the hall where army orchestra is practicing and they could try to play on the instruments. The time they spent was finished with eating of a real army meal (pea's soup). In "Diamond" Children's Club in Białystok we have organized a trip to the airport on 31st of May 2008. Members of the Club got general information on parachuting and gliding. They could visit and get into the school glider "Puchacz" and the airplane AN-2, which takes the parachutists. The excursion was held on the ordinary work day, so children could also observe departs and landings and parachuting as well. They all were very interested. Our excursion had finished with the visit in the Ice Cream Shop.
