The devastating war in Ukraine has been going on for 37 days. About 2,500,000 Ukrainians, our neighbors, crossed the Polish-Ukrainian border fleeing the aggression of the Russian invaders. About 1,000,000 of them went further to other European countries, the rest decided to stay in Poland. Every day we watch on TV pictures of bombed towns and villages, murdered innocent people, children, women and old people. We also hear tragic reports from refugees speaking on television. We are also moved by the stories of refugees we met personally in Białystok and Narewka. Our hearts are full of pain and disbelief that such atrocities man can do to man for no reason.

We decided to join in helping Ukrainians experiencing the trauma of war. Our great friends from the USA, namely from the Grace Baptist Church in Richmond, also joined this work. They provided funds that allow us to buy the necessary things to Ukrainian refugees, as well as to Ukrainians in the bombed Ukraine. We do it with joy and we treat it as a joint effort to help Ukrainians who find themselves in a tragic situation.

We are glad that we were able to buy 15 sets of duvets + pillows. They were transferred to the refugee center in Narewka, run by the Baptist Church in Białystok. We visited the center twice. We brought: fresh chickens for about 50 people, canned meat, fish, oranges, mandarins, bananas, tomatoes, mixed meals and porridges for small children, cakes. Rolls, bars and chocolates, diapers, washing powders and liquids. sanitary products, paper towels, cosmetics and hygiene products for women, medicines, hair dryer, hair clipper. In addition, we bought shoes for 3 people and underwear for 1 person.

We bought things several times, which were included in humanitarian transports organized by the Baptist Church in Białystok. We purchased: diapers for children. mixed meal for young children, milk, sweets for children, various canned meat and fish, various meals in jars (meatballs, baked beans, soups), pasta, cereals, sugar, salt, oil and various teas. Through these actions, which we are doing together with our Friends from the USA, we want to wholeheartedly help our fellow men in a tragic situation.
